Top 5 Golf Courses Around Chandler

Arizona is known for two things: the Grand Canyon and golf courses. Our golf courses and weather make Arizona one of the best golfing destinations in America. Chandler, Arizona does not have any shortage of golf courses. In fact, it has some of the best in the state. Here are some of Chandler’s best courses.

Southern Dunes
This beautiful course is located only 20-25 minutes outside of chander, and with Southern Dunes’ view of the Arizona desert, it is completely worth the drive. It is 320 acres, with a very laid-back atmosphere. In fact, Southern Dunes has won several awards for it’s quality and playability. They also offer specials, so make sure you check their website:

Raven is about 25 minutes away from Chandler, and is rated 4.5/5 stars by golf digest. It’s also ranked number 5 in the state for best public course to play. There are beautiful, rolling fairways surrounded by thousands of pine trees, giving it a unique atmosphere in the middle of an Arizona desert.
Raven features a putting green, chipping green with bunker, and large grass hitting area. This allows both beginners and professionals to practice on target greens. Raven also hosts tournaments, so if you’re a serious golfer, make sure you check their website for updates:

legacy golf course in chandlerAgain, about 25 minutes away from Chandler, Legacy is an 18-hole championship course. This course is a bit different than the others because it contains a vast history. Legacy golf course was built on Dwight B. Heard’s 7,500 acre ranch. In fact, you’ll find two-grain silos alongside the 18th fairway, which are original structures built in 1902! At that time, they were the tallest structures in Maricopa County. Then, at the first tee, you’ll notice the Sierra Vista House, which Theodore Roosevelt visited in the early 1900’s. The history and view alone makes this a great course to play.

Located in Chandler, Ocotillo Golf Resort first opened in 1986 and it is rated as a 4 ½ star golf course by Golf Digest. It is also recognized as a Top 50 Resort by Golf World. At Ocotillo, you can golf three nine-hole courses amongst waterfalls and beautiful flora.

Only 11 miles from Sky Harbor Airport, it makes the perfect stop after arriving to town to blow off some of that travel stress. It features a 36-hole championship course with waterfalls, and a very peaceful atmosphere. The views are spectacular, but the course measures up as well.
